GUERLAIN Orchidée Impériale – Welcome to the Family

Is when The House of Guerlain was founded.  Being among the first of beauty brands in the world, they are engaged in luxury eco friendly skin care, cosmetics and perfume.

I am honored and excited to announce that this year I will be working with Guerlain as their beauty ambassador, representing Toronto!  I am beyond humbled and thankful to be working with a brand who takes our planet into consideration when creating their products.  It gives me pleasure in knowing I am working with a brand that does no animal testing and has one of the highest certificates for sustainable organic growth and development.

A few days ago I received the most amazing facial from the Guerlain Boutique on Bloor (amazing experience, thanks to Sakien). And if you’ve been keeping up with my Instagram stories, you will have noticed I just received the new Orchidée Impériale cream, the lotion and eye serum which were used in my facial and what I’ve been using for a couple of weeks now.
And let me tell you. I’M IMPRESSED. Or at least I’ve been seeing impressive results – mainly radiance, softness, firming and lasting hydration. The facial I received from Sakien was like having delicious dessert for my skin. It was a luxurious process using only the best serums, masks and creams from the Orchidée family.  Seen above, 4th Generation Orchidée Impériale Cream.
But the important thing I learned from my appointment was the technique she used to apply the products onto my skin. It’s not about wiping the product all over your face, but using a certain massage technique to let it absorb in a way that will help with your blood flow and circulate. *IMPORTANT APPLICATION TIP* when using Orchidée Impériale products:

Massage from the centre out, tapping into your pressure points and use passive gymnastics (move the muscle just a bit without excessive movement) to create firming of the skin. Basically, give yourself a mini facial every day to let the ingredients absorb and activate properly. The image above gives good direction on how to give yourself a facial massage using the Orchidée Impériale products. By doing this, you will receive the best results.
Now you’re probably wondering, WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL? What makes Orchidée Impériale better than what I currently use?

The other week I sat down with Guerlain’s international beauty artist, Maxime Poulin and got the lowdown on what makes Orchidée Impériale exceptional from all the rest of the noise.
“The orchid can live for up to 150 years and has a powerful anti-oxidant that has long lasting and regenerative powers. Guerlain was able to extract that active ingredient from a few special orchids which are harvested from special Guerlain reserves around the world.  Orchidée Impériale targets all visible signs of aging to reduce: wrinkles and fine lines, skin recovers firmness, density and elasticity. The complexion is evened out and brightened. We also added in the new cream the diamond powder which reduces redness and dullness and will receive a noticeable radiance.”
I love this video of the Tianzi Nature Reserve and the story behind how they were able to build it from ground zero after a disastrous forest fire through process of Rainforestation. It’s a beautiful story where you can get a sense of Guerlain’s approach in creating an organic and ecologically sustainable product while being environmentally responsible. But more importantly, making a product THAT WORKS.
Now this luxury product has a luxury price tag. But I guess you have to ask yourself what you want for your skin. Do you want a cream that does just an ok job day to day, or do you want a cream that will do an amazing job for your lifetime?

The good news is that a little goes a long way. You don’t need to use too much of the cream and it should last you a long time.
The current packaging allows you to take it along with you on your travels. And I absolutely love that it is made of recycled glass and plastic but still feels so luxurious in your hands.

I’m excited to continue to use the Orchidée Impériale products. I should see even better results after 28-48 days of usage. The results are progressive. I highly recommend using the lotion before the cream. In Maxime’s words the lotion “opens the door for your cream to work for your skin”.
