For the last three plus months, the hubby and I decided to live a pescetarian lifestyle. The next step is to eventually go vegetarian, but for now we are super proud of this accomplishment. We are still human and at times we might cheat here and there. But we definitely try our best!
With that being said, today we headed out to a brunch place in the west end of downtown Toronto. It ended up being closed (I wish websites would update their hours), so we ended up going to a healthy food joint called Spark Fresh Bar. Let me tell you, it was a blessing the previous restaurant was closed because this place was not only healthy, but deliciously fresh and and oh so tasty. And BONUS. They do latte art on their coffee! *Happy blogger dance*. This may just be my new favorite healthy food spot to hit up when I’m downtown. It’s a bit far from the city core, but if you’re a health nut or just want to eat clean, I would recommend visiting. We walked in and the owner immediately smelled “blogger”. I think the incessant picture taking was a clue. He was so hospitable and friendly, so I have no complaints on service.
Their menu has a variety of healthy choices from juices to smoothies to power bowls. We ordered the earth bowl, the frittata and my almond milk latte. Super nomz. Never knew healthy food could be so tasty! The owner then delivered us some freebie treats including a house made lemon iced tea (so refreshing) and these UH-MAZING little energy balls filled with a variety of nuts, fruits and coconut. Craving it right now!
Post yummy meal, we headed out to another cafe that was close by, but guess what? YUP. Closed again. We had no luck in our choice of venue today. But that’s cool. So happy we satisfied our stomachs at Spark Fresh Bar! We ended up exploring Liberty Village and their outdoor farmers market. It was nice to walk around with the hubby and the weather was pretty perfect. Not too hot and not too cold.
